Departments - Braille Printing

Objective

Braille Printing Dept This department is responsible for the creation, printing and bookbinding of Braille books, their distribution to the members of the Braille Lending Library, and the production planning of new books.

Book Categories

  • Educational books of all levels (except for the Organization of Publications of Educational books which are printed at KEAT)
  • University publications (Codes, Laws, etc.)
  • Greek and Foreign literature
  • Children’s literature
  • Foreign Language Textbooks
  • Byzantine and European Music
  • Computer technology and Technical Handbooks

In addition, three monthly Braille magazines are published and circulated in Greece and in Cyprus. Two different types for adults "The Lighthouse" and "Between us" as well as, a children's periodical "The Spinning Wheel".

Lending Braille Library

Braille Books Lending Library The Braille Lending Library, has more than 500 active members and includes more than 3000 titles of Books and is accessible via internet. [see. Internet Services]
It includes Writings of Ancient Writers, scientific books, literature, music, Foreign language books as well as the private Braille books of the distinguished blind pianist G. Themelis and the blind schoolteacher of Byzantine Music D. Chrysafidis.
