Departments - Culture Club
Objective
The members of the Culture Club meet every 15 days in the offices of the Lighthouse and deal with subjects of cultural interest, the organisation of cultural events as well as daily excursions.
Cultural Events of 2005
In co-operation with the cultural association, “Arion”, of Kallithea, the following events were organized:
- Music and literature evenings dedicated to the life of the gypsies (ROM)
- Speech by psychologist, Ms. Joanna Nori about "Life after Retirement"
- Speech by the distinguished guide-writer Ms. Artemis Skoubourdi about "The Neoclassical buildings in Athens"
- Speech by professor Alexandros Kontou about "The Parliamentary System and Democracy two different regimes"
- Scientific - Informative Event on the subject "Prevention – timely diagnosis of breast cancer", as well as mobilisation of the women for regular preventive check-ups.
- Musical Dedication to the well-known Composer Kostas Giannidis
- Dedication to the environment on the subject of the tsounami with scientists of the Greek Centre of Marine Research
- Dedication to the anniversary of the 28 October on the subject "How theatre and song fought the war during 1940"
- Musical event dedicated to the composer Stavros Kougioumtzi
- Christmas event with traditional songs from Latin America
