Continuous presence since 1946
A LIGHTHOUSE FOR EVERYONE
Since 1946, the Lighthouse for the Blind of Greece offers a big hug to all adults with visual impairments.
The Lighthouse is an non-profit organisation, specially recognised as philanthropic, supervised by the Ministry of Labour and sponsored by the State through the Region of Attica.
All social activities of the Lighthouse are offered free of charge (social service, computer classes, pottery classes, Italian lessons, talking book library, Braille book library, Braille courses for the blind, gym etc), yet many are the moments of recreation and socialisation (woven, macrame, theatrical groups etc.)
Do not hesitate to contact us,
The American Friends of the Blind in Greece, played a major role to the creation of the Lighthouse for the Blind In Greece in 1946. Ever since, they have been by our side, supporting all our actions and services, social, cultural, educational and of course our sheltered workshops, offering jobs to blind people. For seventy years now, the American Friends of the Blind in Greece, have been significantly contributing to the attempts and constant efforts of the Lighthouse for the Blind In Greece for a descent and qualitative life of thousands of visually impaired people.
To us, the American Friends of the Blind in Greece are many more than just supporters, something that we appreciate, acknowledge and communicate in any case.
