Continuous presence since 1946

Lighthouse's Logo From 1946 until today, the continuous objective of all administrations of the Lighthouse for the Blind has been the exploitation of technological developments to profit blind individuals. Within this framework is also included our provision of advanced services for blind users of the Internet.
Of course we realize that access to the Internet is not easy for visually-impaired individuals. Unfortunately, the chasm which exists between sighted individuals and the visually-impaired in the field of digital/computer technology because of the unequal access to the Internet is real. A new type of exclusion, the digital exclusion of visually-impaired individuals is making its appearance. To face this challenge they will need specialized intervention.
